The Freedom House Foundation serves as the public relations and fundraising arm of Freedom House. Specifically, we raise funds for the SAVE-A-LIFE SCHOLARSHIP FUND, which are used to provide free residential drug and alcohol treatment and offset living expenses for our indigent clients residing in our halfway houses in New Jersey. Foundation funds also help support new initiatives and expansion of current programs.

The Foundation raises funds for our long term residential treatment and transitional living programs in a number of ways, including a series of high-end special events held throughout the year. Our biannual Mother’s Day Luncheon profiles corporate women and civic leaders and presents sponsored awards to high-profile people. A biannual banquet attracts over 300 people and presents a Distinguished Citizen Award to a person that provided philanthropic or monetary help to Freedom House. A golf marathon hosting 40 golfers who have gotten pledges to play the holes, and a casino-night offering prizes and sponsorship opportunities complete the Foundation’s schedule of events.
If you would like information on setting up a Planned Giving Program where you can earmark part of your estate planning as a donation to Freedom House, please call us at 908-537-6043. Thank you for your support!
In addition to staging fundraising events, the Freedom House Foundation regularly solicits grants from private foundations and large corporations to fund our NJ drug rehab. We also solicit charitable donations from individuals and major benefactors. Most recently, we have established a planned giving program, where an individual can earmark all or part of his or her estate to Freedom House.
All of our fundraising efforts are instituted with a single, unified goal in mind, which is to increase the number of men and women we’re able to accept into our residential drug and alcohol treatment and transitional living programs. Unfortunately, due to a lack of beds we have traditionally had to turn away more than 4 men for every one accepted into the program, as well as 90% of the women that applied for our services. This unacceptable ration can be reversed, however, through your philanthropic generosity. Through your or your company’s tax-deductible donation, we can increase the number of available beds, provide nutritious meals, and offset the cost of contracted services for more of those in need of our services.
